19th Cartographic School - the second circular



On 21st - 23rd of April 2010 in Zieleniec (part of Duszniki-Zdroj city in Orlickie Mountains) will take place 19th Cartographic School:

"Main Problems of Contemporary Cartography 2010
- Digital Terrain Models in Cartography"

The conference is organized by the Department of Cartography of the University of Wroc³aw, the Cartographic Branch of the Polish Geographical Society and Marshall Office of the Lower Silesia Voivodeship.

The main subject of 19th Cartographic School are Digital Terrain Models (DTM) - their theoretical basis, making, data supplies, application in researches and practice.

The conference's program providesfour groups of topics:
- 3D as semiotic aspect of cartographic visualisation; pre-computer cartographic modelling of relief.
- Digital Terrain Models: data sources and methods of data providing; methods of DTM making; generalization of relief models by using of DTM's.
- Modelling of physical field of continuous phenomena; methods of approximation of 3D surface.
- Application of DTM's in researches and practice: cartography, geomorphometry, agriculture, climatology, etc.

Applications of participation must be sent until the 22nd of March 2010.
